The chief financial officer of Gijima, Carlos Ferreira, has resigned.

Ferreira reportedly handed in his resignation yesterday.

In a statement, Gijima says it has appointed Liesl Tweedie as acting chief financial officer “in order to facilitate the process of advertising and interviewing an appropriate candidate to fill the position permanently”.
A B Compt, CA (SA), Tweedie completed her articles at KPMG and worked at ABB for 17 years, the last five in the position of country controller and deputy CFO. She takes up the acting CFO role at Gijima from Thursday.

“The Board has full trust and confidence in Ms Tweedie’s ability and remains positive about the outlook for the company,” Gijima’s statement concludes.
