MER Group, a world leader in digital communication infrastructure for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), announced that its telecom division has been chosen to provide full turnkey tower site solutions for two leading mobile operators in Mozambique. The turnkey solution includes site design, tower supply, site construction, as well as hybrid energy system design and implementation.
With mobile penetration at 49% in Mozambique, there’s plenty of room for growth. Cooperating with two leading mobile operators, the telecom division has been selected to provide tens of turnkey sites for each operator across the country. The new tower sites will provide the operators with improved coverage and network quality.

The Telecom Division has set up local operations with warehouse and logistic facilities employing teams of civil workers, engineers and tower experts in order to provide on-going support.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with two leading mobile operators as we take our first steps into Mozambique,” says Uri Bar-Yosef, GM of the Infrastructure at the telecom division.

“Our continued expansion in Africa emphasizes our belief in the growth of Africa’s mobile telecommunications market. We are confident that we can provide top-quality service to operators to help them expand and improve their networks while optimizing costs.”

In addition to telecom infrastructure, the division provides a wide range of innovative solutions including M2M enablement and vertical market applications, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), Cloud Billing, MVNO enablement, Smart City, as well as on/off board and remote/contactless payment solutions for public transport operators.
