Altech Alcom Matomo, a provider of radio communication and telemetry products and solutions, has been awarded a three year contract to provide the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) with tactical security communication services and equipment. The current contract value is R25-million which includes the first years’ service provision fees.

Altech Alcom Matomo is a division of Altech Radio Holdings, which forms part of the Altech Group of companies.

The contract forms part of PRASA’s ongoing interventions to ensure the safety and security of its employees and commuters and will include the supply of a comprehensive two-way radio solution for PRASA security personnel.

The basic contract provides for the supply of 18 dispatch positions with voice recording, 105 desktop radios, 188 mobile radios and 1 024 portable radios. This equipment will operate using the Altech Fleetcall national radio network communication service.
