David Drummond, who recently rejoined Acer Africa, has been named as the new vice-president of Acer Middle East and Africa.
He will continue to serve as country manager for Acer Southern Africa, while taking on the additional responsibility of the Middle East and Africa Countries operational excellence and business management. Simon
Turner will support David and his team in further building the sales organisation and business development capabilities in the region.
Drummond, who has a long standing relationship with the Acer brand has recently rejoined in the role of country manager for Acer Southern Africa.

Born in the Lake District, David attended the Trinity College of Music in London, completing his undergraduate degree in General Management (Cum Laude) from the Institute of Management at Politecnico di Milano.
From 1992 David worked in Software Support for Borland International before moving on to manage international translations into Russian, Czech and Arabic for the Group. In 1994 moved on to Compaq Computer
Corporation and was tasked with the responsibility of opening the Bahrain offices whilst growing and maintaining channels in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt.
In 2001 David made his first trip to South Africa to coordinate the construction of the Compaq Computer Corporation assembly plant and has called it home ever since. It was in South Africa that David had his first
working relationship with Acer Southern Africa as country manager in 2002. Since then he has also spent time as Acer MD before rejoining Acer Southern Africa in October 2013.

level laptop and netbook market,” Drummond comments.
