Bytes Document Solutions (BDS) has announced that it will introduce and showcase three high-performance devices from Xerox at the FESPA Africa 2014. The event, taking place from 2 to 4 July 2014 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, BDS will demonstrate the Xerox D136 Copier/Printer, the IJP2000 and 6705MFP MFP Wide Format Systems.
Paul Haglich, marketing manager for production systems at Bytes Document Solutions, says these new devices deliver flexibility and performance for professional printers. “With integrated finishing, high speeds and, with the IJP2000, the ability to produce large-format, full-colour output, these new Xerox machines are designed to fit into workflows and reliably deliver quality printed material.”
Available as a Copier/Printer or standalone Printer, the Xerox D136 is engineered for superior monochrome print production performance. By including finishing capabilities, and with the ability to add integrated workflow-optimisation solutions, the Xerox D136 is ready for business, equipping printers to deliver complete jobs rather than calling in the support of external print finishing partners.
The D136 is ideal for producing training manuals, books, catalogues, study materials, examination papers and transactional statements and invoices. It delivers superior performance with black and white simplicity.
Headline specifications for the D136 include a rated speed of 136 pages per minute, with a recommended average monthly volume from 70,000 – 700,000 pages per month. The machine has an integrated Copy/Print Server; or Xerox’s FreeFlow Print Server and EX136 Print Server, Powered by Fiery, are standard on the D136 Printer and available as optional print servers on the D136 Copier/Printer.
Finishing includes booklet making, folding, hole punching, lay flat books, squarefold trimming, stacking, tape bound documents, and full-bleed booklets. The Xerox D136 handles media types including Carbonless, DocuCards, document folders, synthetics, tabs, labels, specialty media, coated stock.
“This is the most productive printer/copier in the medium-production market segment and offers excellent value for money and ROI for commercial printers, print-for-pay, education, government departments and corporations,” Haglich adds.
The Xerox IJP2000 Large Format Printer provides a unique solution for high speed colour wide format printing. The increased speed heralded by this machine means printers can accept and produce more wide format jobs – even last minute requests. For example, it can print an A0 page in full colour with a resolution of 1 600 x 1 600dpi in just seven seconds to give printers a substantial competitive advantage.
The printer is driven by Caldera’s Grand RIP Plus and is suitable for a range of substrates such as textile, vinyl, backlit, banner fabric and stoplight films as well as standard and coated papers.
The IJP2000 is engineered for high speed production of Point of Sale posters and indoor signage and can produce runs of 36 A0 size posters in five minutes compared to traditional multi-pass ink jet technology that would typically take approximately five hours to print the same job.
The new Xerox 6705MFP will also be shown at FESPA for the first time. This Large Format mono printer is also equipped with a colour scanner for accurately relaying the intent of engineers, architects and other professionals to whom colour matters. The 6705MFP will be connected to the IJP2000 printer to demonstrate wide format colour scanning destined for archiving or for printing on the colour IJP2000
Haglich says Xerox keeps a close eye on the needs of the professional imaging and printing industries and responds with compelling solutions which incorporate technological advances.
“The result is solutions like the D136, IJP2000 and 6705MFP. These highly productive devices are designed to help printers enhance their businesses by providing top quality printed material to their customers, faster.”
