Business Connexion last night ensured that the vision and legacy of its late CEO, Benjamin Mophatlane lives on when chairperson Tony Ruiters launched a foundation in his name at a gala dinner in Sandton.
The Benjamin Mophatlane Foundation, Ruiters says, is reflective of the vision of the late Mophatlane whose passion for education and the upliftment of different communities through technology is nestled in the group’s mission statement; “To enrich communities by making the impossible possible, through technology”.
Business Connexion is donating R2-million to the foundation.
“Our mission for the Benjamin Mophatlane Foundation is to enrich the future of Africa’s youth by providing technology-oriented educational opportunities and sponsorships to previously disadvantaged youth and also to support business development programmes and other entrepreneurial initiatives,” says Ruiters.
“Through the foundation, we will continue Benjamin Mophatlane’s legacy that will serve to inspire us now and into the future.”
The foundation was launched at a gala dinner officially opening the first MyWorld of Tomorrow expo and conference which is being hosted by the company.
