SAP Africa last night singled out the top quality implementations in Africa, acknowledging customers for quality excellence in innovation, rapid development and business transformation.
The SA Quality Awards are made for SAP implementations that adhere to SAP’s 10 quality principles and bring about real business transformation.
Wayne Haw, quality director of SAP Africa, says the awards do more than demonstrate excellence in SAP projects, though. “They help to build a community of thought leaders, building on the body of SAP knowledge,” he says.
“They are also a platform for increased collaboration with customers and partners, who can get together to share best practice.”
In the Innovation category, the Mobility award went to Namibia Power Corporation for its SAP Fiori implementation; while the HANA award went to Kenya-based Savannah Cement, whose SAP HANA implementation took just 3,5 months and resulted in increased market share and reduced bottlenecks.
In the Rapid Delivery category, the bronze award went to Kenya’s Kapa Oil Refineries for a 57-day implementation; the silver award was handed to Babcock Africa; and the gold award went to Engen Petroleum.
In the Business Transformation category, the bronze award winner was Kumba Iron Ore; silver went to Engen Petroleum; and gold was awarded to Aveng Trident Steel.
