Dimension Data has secured a multi-year transformational outsource partnership with Zurich Insurance.

Zurich Insurance Company South Africa is a short-term insurance company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange “JSE) and is a subsidiary of the Swiss-based Zurich Insurance Group.

In the past, Zurich adopted a multi-sourcing strategy for IT services. Now, in an effort to relinquish the overhead of multi-vendor management, the company opted for a full IT outsourcing solution that would reduce costs (through vendor
consolidation), unlock operational efficiencies, as well as support key business drivers.

Dimension Data will operate Zurich’s IT landscape as well as collaborate with Zurich in formulating, tracking and managing an IT Transformation programme that would enable the next generation IT landscape.
Collin Molepe, COO for Zurich South Africa, says: “Being a customer centric organisation, we wanted to embrace emerging trends in an effort to improve our customer offering even further. Through an extensive RFP process,
Dimension Data was selected for this key transformational outsourcing initiative.”

Costa Koutakis, executive: IT outsourcing at Dimension Data Middle East and Africa, adds: “We believe we are uniquely positioned to provide Zurich South Africa with a world class operational service and address their short-term as well as medium and longer term IT aspirations. As we expand our relationship, our goal is to continue to provide superior services and further our impact on the overall business performance of the organisation. Our experience in IT Outsourcing will give Zurich the advantage they need to differentiate in this competitive market.”

Dimension Data will provide Zurich Insurance with the following services, utilising a blended onsite and remote model: End user computing, network support, IP telephony, server administration, service desk, e-mail platform and Data Centre services; as well as assist in cloud and mobility solutions going forward.

Dimension Data will support Zurich’s staff complement of 850 people across 26 locations in South Africa and Botswana.
