mi-Fone, the first African mobile devices brand, is now offering devices directly to consumers via an online shopping platform, mi-fone.co.za.

mi-Fone’s first online offering is for the South African market. In partnership with Payfast and Mobicred, a simple and convenient credit facility allows users to choose credit terms that best fit their lifestyle.

The range of smartphones will not be available to South African consumers via any other channel other than purchasing directly on the online platform – meaning no more middlemen will be involved.

The platform will be launched with a limited-edition smartphone, the mi-FAB 4.5, which will only be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Retailing for just R2 199.00, and available on pre-paid, the mi-Fone smartphone includes:

* Dual SIM and unlocked to use with any mobile operator;
* Free SD card with pan-African music content; and
* 5MP front camera (allowing end-users to take the best Selfie) and 8MP rear camera.

The ultra slim handset (7mm width and 130mm long), boasts a 5MP front camera. As a limited introductory offer mi-Fone is also giving customers a Free Bluetooth Speaker, three interchangeable covers, carry case, rubber stand and Powerbank.

Alpesh Patel, mi-Fone CEO and group CEO of mi-Group International, says: “There is no doubt that Africa is the ‘mobile continent’, with the industry expecting mobile internet use to increase 20-fold in the next five years. It is estimated that 20-million South Africans still have no Internet access due to high costs of devices. mi-Fone’s success in Africa is largely due to our smartly-developed, well-priced phones, so I have no doubt that we will be able to impact this market through our online portal, empowering and enabling Africans to access technology directly at very affordable prices and delivering on our tagline of ‘Aspiration ….within Reach’.”
