Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, today announces that it has received five 2015 Winter Pick of the Year awards, including an Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency and an award for Outstanding Document Imaging Solution Suite from testing and research organisation, Buyers Laboratory (BLI).
Recognising Canon’s commitment to delivering the very best hardware and software solutions for both consumers and business users, BLI has presented the company with the following awards:
BLI Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding 51- to 60-ppm A3 Monochrome MFP
* Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6255i
BLI Pick of the Year for Outstanding Entry-Level 21- to 30-ppm A3 Monochrome MFP
* Canon imageRUNNER 2202N
BLI Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency
* Canon i-SENSYS MF6180dw
BLI Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding A4 Monochrome
* Canon i-SENSYS MF229dw
BLI Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding Document Imaging Solution Suite
* Canon uniFLOW V5.3
Presented twice annually, the ‘Pick’ awards recognise the best performers in a comprehensive suite of tests that cover a wide range of the most important features and performance factors for buyers.
Canon’s imageRUNNER 2202N and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6255i devices both impressed BLI analysts with their exceptional performance, productivity and quality. The black and white imageRUNNER 2202N was recognised for superlative image quality in print and copy modes, as well as its flexible MF Toolbox, which allows files to be scanned to compressed and searchable PDF files.
The durability and reliability of its print engine was also highlighted, having completed 60,000 impressions and 12,000 scans without any misfeed issues or service calls.
According to BLI analyst Martin Sloane, the fact that the device is designed to make it easy to conduct simple routine maintenance procedures, “allows users to spend less timetaking care of the unit and more time doing their jobs”; making the device highly recommendable for busy small to mid-sized work groups.
Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6255i also gained recognition as a highly productive device for busy office environments. BLI analysts were impressed with its customisable control panel, intuitive drivers and unlimited profile settings, which allow users to program complex jobs in just one click.
In addition, BLI awarded Canon’s i-SENSYS MF6180dw the Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency. The device consistently exhibited a substantially lower than average energy consumption rate when compared with competitive A4 monochrome MFPs for small workgroups. The unit also demonstrated considerably faster than average recovery times from sleep mode, so users can be sure that setting the i-SENSYS MF6180dw to enter sleep mode won’t impede productivity. Additionally, the display remains off when print jobs are sent to the device while in sleep mode, preventing needless energy consumption.
BLI awarded its Winter Pick of the Year for Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP to Canon’s i-SENSYS MF229dw, highlighting its superior image quality in print and copymodes. BLI also considered the device’s broad range of connectivity features.
As a Mopria-certified, compact 4-in-1 device, it supports the Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning apps for iOS and Android. Meanwhile BLI Senior Writer Carl Schell commented that its standard automatic duplexing functionality, which includes 2:2 copy mode, is “a great way for home users to reduce paper consumption and save money”.
Canon uniFLOW V5.3 was also named BLI’s Winter 2015 Pick as “Outstanding Document Imaging Solution Suite.”
“Our Pick award winners don’t just have to be notable performers in agiven evaluation period, they have to be class-leading solutions among all their peers,” explained BLI Senior Editor Jamie Bsales.
Paul Rowntree, European and UK Product Marketing Director at Canon Europe, comments, “We’re delighted that BLI’s rigorous testing methods have once again highlighted the strength and breadth of our office portfolio – particularly in areas such as energy efficiency, where we continue to place our focus as weenhance and expand our range to meet the needs of our ever growing customerbase.”
