WD has now added high performance network attached storage (NAS) solutions for expert and business users to My Cloud line.
With an estimated 40% growth in the next 3 years, the prosumer and SMB NAS markets in EMEA hold a wealth of opportunity for the channel.

IDC predicts an expansion of the digital universe from 4,4 to 44-trillion Gigabytes between 2013 and 2020. Facebook alone sees 350-million photos uploaded to the service every day. The growing demands of streaming and content creation, have given way to an increasing need and use of storage.

At the heart of this paradigm is network-attached-storage (NAS), which has quickly become the must-have piece of the “The Internet of things” puzzle, by reliably managing large amounts of digital data (storing, sharing, back up, streaming).

This market dynamic creates long term growth opportunities for NAS manufacturers like WD and their distribution partners as they create synergies to respond to the growing need for NAS storage.

With the launch of the My Cloud Expert Series, My Cloud EX2100 (two-bay) and My Cloud EX4100 (four-bay), and the new My Cloud Business Series, My Cloud DL2100 (two-bay) and My Cloud DL4100 (four-bay), WD is now at the forefront of the NAS market.

Designed for creative professionals, prosumers and small businesses, the four new My Cloud NAS solutions round out a full portfolio of powerful NAS products built with the My Cloud OS and WD Red drives.

Leveraging this multi-bay NAS portfolio, channel partners will be able to offer specific storage solutions to suit the distinct needs of different types of users and thus address a larger market with improved performance, ease-of-use, reliability and My Cloud OS. With step-up product opportunities as well exclusive demo-use opportunities, the channel will have a large playing ground to be able to respond to the majority of storage needs in the NAS space.

“WD is committed to providing a comprehensive range of NAS solutions to suit the specific needs of both prosumer and business users, following on from our success in 2014 of the WD Red internal drive for NAS systems and the My Cloud personal cloud storage solution for consumers,” comments Kalima Toubal, product marketing director EMEAi.

“With the launch of the My Cloud DL business series for SMBs and My Cloud EX expert series for prosumers, WD aims to lead the booming NAS market working closely with our channel partners to leverage business opportunities and margin growth opportunities”
