Fujitsu has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Australian-based Constraint Technologies Incorporated (CTI), with the specific objective of offering a market-leading solution spanning all disciplines of network operations, crew planning, tracking and management for the airlines industry. This partnership will bring together two sets of expertise and IP into one joint offering that will be taken to market.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, CTI is a solutions and services company and a market leader for optimization and real time mobile software for the transport, travel and logistics Sector. The partnership aligns CTI’s proven software solutions with Fujitsu’s Pegasus solution for the airlines sector, which is currently deployed in South Africa , Europe and Asia.

Fujitsu and CTI will jointly enhance the solution, which has a successful 20-year history. By integrating the latest real time mobile, rule and optimization capabilities this will take Pegasus to the next level – looking for innovation and new computing paradigms in mobile and operational areas, optimizing the utilization of resources and aircraft leveraging highly complex theories and algorithms.

The partnership announcement is the culmination of 2 years of intensive research and will see a combined development team jointly leveraging mobile and optimization expertise. The combination of the expertise of Fujitsu and CTI will result in a better yield on research and development and a more rapid development of solutions that better meet the needs of the airlines industry. It is anticipated that this will rapidly accelerate the roadmap for the release of the next generation of Pegasus.
