Ricoh SA has extended its distribution agreement with Rectron two years into their partnership to include first and second line support on the majority of Ricoh devices it sells.
Rectron adds Ricoh equipment to its extensive service portfolio as another means by which it provides complete and transparent operations for its clients.
“The partnership with Rectron has proved exceptionally positive, and this is a natural extension based on the professionalism they have displayed combined with the high level of trust that has developed between us. This arrangement also allows us to exploit further efficiencies in the supply chain to ultimately benefit end users of Ricoh technologies,” says David Hallas director indirect operations of Ricoh SA.
“This decision supports Rectron’s philosophy of being a value added distributor and partner to our reseller channel, bringing them the best technology, service and price structures to aid them in diversifying and building their business,” says Lindi Shortt, MD of Rectron.
“The last two years have seen this remarkable brand grow from strength to strength,” says Martin Roets, operations director at Rectron. “The extension of this agreement to include servicing is testament to the trust that has been built between both parties and the credibility of the brand itself. Ricoh is a leading manufacturer and supplier of printers for the consumer, the small office home office (SOHO) the SMB customer as well as the corporate client.”
“We originally chose to partner with Rectron because they are focused on building a versatile printing division, they see the print solutions as the technology enabler, and they truly understand the value added opportunities in the South African print market,” says Hallas.
“Our mission, as always, is to make it easier for our customers to do business with us,” says Roets. “Our Service division prides itself on offering exceptional on-time service delivery and our customers can expect no change in this level of service when it comes to Ricoh. Customers will now be able to drop off faulty units at any of the Rectron branches countrywide and can expect a full turnaround within 48 hours.”
Rectron service personnel have already completed extensive training on all models being serviced and are fully geared for April 1, 2015, when the new agreement becomes active.
Rectron supplies Ricoh’s consumer, small office home office (SOHO) and small business printers, multifunction printers, consumables and solutions. These include Ricoh’s SP and SPC printer range, catering specifically to the intended market and including the GELJET printers that have a small footprint, full front access and easy connectivity including WiFi. They feature Ricoh’s fast-drying liquid gel technology to simplify colour printing.
