Uniclox Technologies, leaders in Resource Management Solutions, and Softcon Control Services, leaders in Building Management and Access Control, have recently signed a strategic partnership agreement in Pretoria.
Softcon is a 33-year-old South African based hardware and software development company. This strategic partnership will enable Uniclox to fully explore and provide its clients with intelligent access control solutions, canteen management solutions, resource booking and management, estate management, and building management. The Softcon software solutions are totally integratable with Uniclox technology, both software and hardware.
Kobus Nieuwoudt, head of Research and Development at Uniclox, says his company is delighted with the partnership.
“Uniclox invests considerable funding in R&D and we have been in discussion with Softcon for some time about a mutually beneficial and strategic partnership. Their approach to delivering innovative and best-of-breed solutions to their clients matches our own vision and their development in IP-based solutions, that totally integrates with our Vision software and hardware gives us a shared solution in many industry sectors,” says Nieuwoudt.
“I know that the partnership with Uniclox is going to work, as by bringing together two sector specialists that complement each other, we bring another perspective to our client-base. Together with Uniclox we can offer our clients a complete 360 degree solution and full security peace of mind. Uniclox’s vision of totally integrated solutions for the purpose of central management of various systems is an absolute necessity and one which we share,” says Mark Liebenberg, CEO and MD at Softcon.
The two companies are important players in the security sector, along with delivering total turnkey solutions from time & attendance, to payroll integration and resource management.
This partnership agreement represents synergy between the two companies in terms of the solutions that can be provided to both client bases. From a strategic perspective this agreement is important in that the companies are able to offer clients a complete solution base that includes access control, building management, and canteen management.
“Softcon develops all the products in-house and provides all support to our systems by using our own engineers based in the offices. This has been the culture for the past 33 years,” says Johannes Tlhabi, Sales and Marketing manager at Softcon.
“Softcon is one of the leading suppliers of the products that they offer, and it’s a world class supplier of access control, building management systems, vending machine control, canteen management, and even asset management.
Uniclox brings a time and attendance module to the portfolio of products which together provides a complete turnkey solution to both our client bases that will not only save them time but also a lot of money,” says Nieuwoudt.
In terms of building management, Uniclox clients will have access to Softcon’s solutions – which include access control, visitor control, ID cards, biometrics, vending, alarms monitoring, asset management, facilities booking management, parking and canteen point of sale. The resource booking and management systems allows for live tracking, real-time inventory management, and stricter control of resource movement.
In its 70th Anniversary year, Uniclox is restructuring parts of its business to deliver better customer services, better products and solutions and is exploring partnerships with respected industry leaders such as Softcon and other global companies.
Nieuwoudt says, “While we still maintain our mechanical clock division, and will continue to do so, we are excited by the possibilities we’ll be bringing to our client base and that of our partners.”
