Gumtree South Africa has launched a new portal with tips for car buyers and sellers, DIY maintenance guides, as well as a dealer directory featuring top sellers on the site.

“Our customers enjoy the hands-on approach when it comes to their cars, and have been looking for a comprehensive portal where they can find information for some time,” says Jeff Osborne, head of Gumtree Automotive.

The site is currently the most popular and best trafficked site for automotive vehicle sales (Effective Measure, 2015) in the country, featuring numerous cars listed by private sellers as well as professional dealers and motor groups.

The portal offers handy checklists for car buyers to ensure that the vehicle is in top condition for purchase, advice on trade-ins and financing, as well as interesting articles that covers everything from selling a car for R1, to information on car auctions.

“We will be adding new content to the site as often as possible, and of course, will welcome suggestions from our readers,” says Osborne.

While Gumtree has over 2 000 professional sellers making use of the site, the top 100 dealerships are featured in the new dealer directory.

“This will allow you to find your dealership of choice very quickly, and view and their stock.”
