FNB has enhanced the functionality of Cellphone Banking with satellite TV payment, top-up and advance payment facilities by including Multichoice to their pay TV offering.
FNB customers can now view their outstanding amount on their account and make full or partial payments for DStv subscriptions or top up Box Office accounts from their mobile devices using the FNB Cellphone Banking platform.
“FNB is on a journey to simplify customers’ lives,” says Shadrack Palmer, chief commercial officer of FNB Service Provider. “Enabling them with mobile and digital payments is part of that trajectory.  This is another first from FNB; the service was first introduced in November 2014 for Zambia, Swaziland and Tanzania.
“After it was introduced in South Africa in April 2015, we have seen a positive customer uptake largely owed to the fact that it now offers clients the convenience of paying DStv and Box Office accounts on-the-go and around the clock with the added benefit of getting connected immediately after payments.
“The drive to e-enable our customers is the key objective for FNB and is part of our DNA that makes us proud to deliver a hassle-free solution of paying TV subscriptions and getting customers connected in realtime,” he adds.
To access their DStv or Box Office account, customers can log into their FNB Cellphone Banking profile via the dial string (*120*321#) to view and pay outstanding amounts due on their account. Customers can make partial or full payments towards their DStv or BoxOffice accounts; which will update the customer’s account or trigger a reconnection of service immediately in the event where the service was disconnected.
“This Cellphone Banking solution also enables customers to pay subscription fees on someone else’s behalf, similar to buying airtime for another user from one’s cellphone. We are simply building onto past successes to ensure customers enjoy consistent efficiency,” adds Palmer
