To meet the growing demand for market-ready graduates in the IT industry, Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology has partnered with SAP to offer its students a range of practical courses from SAP’s Learning Hub, a self-contained, all-inclusive online learning resource that provides on-demand access to SAP’s technical product knowledge and expertise. It is specifically aimed at university students, lecturers and professors.
Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology, formerly known as PC Training and Business College, is an accredited Further and Higher Education and Training facility (FET) with 65 locations across South Africa. It has served more than 250 000 students since its inception.
The Institute’s CEO, Jay Ramnundlall, commented that the addition of SAP’s Learning Hub will greatly increase the employability of the students. “Since the establishment of the Institute, we have strived to provide affordable quality education to all. The SAP Learning Hub offers access to more than 140 SAP products at a discounted rate, giving our students the opportunity to obtain SAP Certification at a fraction of the normal cost. This brings us another big step closer to achieving our vision of making education accessible and affordable.”
Pfungwa Serima, executive chairman of SAP Africa, adds that it is critical to ensure graduates leave tertiary education with market-relevant skills to meet the demands of the Digital Economy marketplace. “SAP products are used by some of the largest banks, retailers, parastatals, institutions and government departments across the continent. By completing any of the SAP Certifications available on SAP Learning Hub, students enter the workplace with skills that are already in demand. We believe this is a positive step in contributing towards a more qualified, productive and employable South African workforce that will successfully help drive the economy of the future.”
Ramnundlall says all new, current and former students are eligible to apply for SAP Learning Hub courses. “All courses are offered online to give students added flexibility. There will also be workshops for certain modules to assist students’ understanding of the material, and to ensure they can immediately apply their new skills when entering the work environment.”
