Peter Reid, co-founder of Intervate, has been appointed as head of the company, taking the reins from Lionel Moyal, who moves to a senior position within Microsoft South Africa.
Reid says the immediate focus is on maintaining the strong momentum Intervate has developed in recent years: “We’re passionate about staying on the forefront of new innovation, and bringing disruptive, game-changing technology to our clients.”
“Our core principles remain firmly entrenched.  Everything we do is geared towards solving clear business challenges for our clients, and giving their staff and customers exceptional digital experiences.”
Leveraging the strengths of Intervate’s parent company T-Systems South Africa will be crucial in achieving this. Two years on from the acquisition, Reid believes T-Systems’ powerful delivery engine will position Intervate to operationalise and scale those new innovations it explores.
“By maturing our relationship with T-Systems, we’ll truly manifest the concept of ‘bimodal IT’. We have strong investment backing to explore new technologies and new regions, and the opportunity to learn from global best-practice, to ultimately benefit our clients.”
Reid holds a BSc in Computer Science (Computational Intelligence) and a number of Microsoft certifications.
Gert Schoonbee, MD of T-Systems SA, notes that Reid’s technical skills and experience are combined with a leadership style that perfectly fits the ethos of Intervate. “We’ve always maintained that it’s essential to preserve Intervate’s unique culture – the foundation of the company’s success.
“Reid balances a very strong focus on business delivery and growth, with a management style that encourages teams to experiment, innovate, and ultimately have fun and enjoy their work,” adds Schoonbee.
