VAST Networks, Africa’s first open-access WiFi Network, announces WirelessG as its latest partner to provide World-Class Wi-Fi in South Africa.
On finalising the partnership Grant Marais, CEO of VAST Networks says: “With the launch of WirelessG, it validates that VAST’s open access principles benefit both the ISP providing the service but importantly their customer benefit from the scale of our footprint across the country.”
Speaking on the deal Jan van der Nest, managing executive of WirelessG, says: “VAST Networks is busy changing the Wi-Fi hotspot landscape in South Africa and WirelessG is extremely excited to be a part of this venture. We are pleased to announce that all our G-Connect WiFi customers will be able to use their WiFi bundles on the almost 2 000 VAST hotspot locations from this point forward”.
Marais adds: “WirelessG is one of the oldest players in WiFi in South Africa and we are pleased they see the value of using our open access network to grow their own business and brand.”
“As Vodacom’s Consumer WiFi partner, this solution by WirelessG will soon be activated for Vodacom customers that use Vodacom’s consumer WiFi products, allowing super-fast and reliable WiFi at all VAST hotspot locations,” says Van der Nest.
Logging on a cinch
“We know how frustrating the login and authentication process is when you visit a Wi-Fi hotspot. Together with VAST Networks, we have reduced the number of clicks a G-Connect customer goes through to authenticate and access the Internet,” says van der Nest.
“The relationship underlines VAST Networks commitment to providing users with the best Wi-Fi experience in the country. A common ubiquitous platform means more choice for consumers wherever they may be,” says Marais.
