Pokemon Go, the smartphone game that has taken the world by storm, has already been updated – to fix a vulnerability that potentially allowed the developers access to all a user’s emails.
The new version 1.0.1 includes an emergency fix for the iPhone version of the game.
Up until yesterday evening, the most convenient option for installing the game would give the app full access to the user’s Google account.
This means that the app, and its developers, would be able to see and modify almost all the information in the Google account, including email.
Developer Niantic has promised not to use any of the information thus exposed, and has now released a fix.
