Doug Woolley is to take on the leadership of Dell EMC South Africa in February 2017, following the merger of Dell and EMC in September.
Woolley was the country manager of Dell SA, while Jonas Bogoshi headed up EMC. There has been no indication yet of Bogoshi’s future plans.
In related news, Woolley’s predecessor Stewart van Graan, currently rest of EMEA ESG lead at Dell EMC, will be leaving the company after 14 years service.
Van Graan will be leaving the corporate world entirely, to focus on philanthropic projects under the brand StewieVG.Inc.
Woolley joined Dell SA as GM in 2015, after spending four years at Business Connexion as group executive focused on the successful restructuring of the company’s technology division.
He has extensive knowledge of the IT services industry, with over 20 years of experience and an impressive track record of business growth and strong leadership.
In his new role, he will be responsible for driving Dell EMC’s momentum in the region and extending the existing customer and partner base.
“I’m excited about pursuing the opportunities for growth in South Africa and helping to position Dell EMC as a partner for organisations to build their digital future, transform IT and protect their most important asset, information,” says Woolley. “I look forward to working with the entire Dell EMC team to achieve our long-term objectives in the region.”
