BCX CEO and founder Isaac Mophatlane has left the company with immediate effect. Ian Russell is to lead the Telkom subsidiary from today (1 May).
Isaac and his twin brother Benjamin founded BCX (then Business Connexion) in 1996. Benjamin led the company until his death in December 2014, at the age of 41.

Isaac took up the reins and led the company through its acquisition by Telkom.

In June 2016, he was confirmed as CEO of the much larger Telkom/BCX operation, where BCX merged with Telkom’s business division. This entity was renamed BCX earlier this year.

No reason has been given for Mophatlane’s sudden departure, which became known only on his last day, Friday 28 April.

Before today, Russell was Telkom’s chief transition officer and was previously head of procurement.
