Google has introduced a feature to help African users with Android devices to search faster.
In Africa, almost 40% of low-RAM Android users could be experiencing a slow or delayed connection while they’re searching.
The new feature aims to improve Africans’ experience when searching on Google with a low-RAM device via the Google App, Chrome or Android browser.
Web pages accessed from Google’s search results page are now optimised to load faster and use less data.
The feature is already available in Indonesia, India, Brazil and Nigeria, and analyses show that these optimised pages load three times faster and use 80% less data. Traffic to webpages from Google search also increased by up to 40%.
