Duxbury Networking has added Zebra Technology’s wireless technology offerings to its portfolio. The move is expected to strengthen Duxbury’s emphasis on the enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) market, one of the fastest growing segments in South Africa.
“Zebra’s offerings come to us as a result of the vendor’s acquisition by Extreme Networks in the US,” explains Pete Nel, business development manager at Duxbury Networking, the local Extreme distributor.
“With Zebra offerings — now under the Extreme banner — we will be refining our focus on the enterprise WLAN market and the ‘verticals’ most receptive to technology advances and innovation. These include the retail, transport logistics and hospitality sectors,” he says.
According to Nel, the Extreme-Zebra deal will allow Duxbury to expand its range of end-to-end, wired and wireless software-driven networking solutions, creating new sales and marketing opportunities for its corps of accredited resellers and dealers.
“Working in partnership with our resellers, we expect to be adding a number of major organisations – blue-chip companies – to our collective customer base creating opportunities for growth and an increase in market share,” he adds.
The Zebra range also includes wireless security software, a next-generation guest management platform and a managed services capability.
