Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) will undertake remedial work on the M1 highway to accommodate the installation of cables and future services, from today (24 January) until the end of February 2018.
The construction and repairs will be limited to the centre median barrier on the M1 highway between the Killarney bends and the St Andrews road off-ramp from 09:00- 15:00 daily.

The fast lane northbound and southbound will be closed, reducing the number of lanes in both directions from three to two. The lanes will reopen outside the designated timeframes to allow for flow of traffic during peak hours.

Motorists are advised to expects delays during the construction period, travel at reduce speeds upon entering the construction zone and adhere to road works signs. Motorists need to be vigilant of construction workers on site and flag persons will be on hand to alert motorists.
