This role reports to the Infrastructure Manager and the role is critical to the management of current business as usual activities, supporting their International Customer Service team with incident resolution and root cause analysis as well as supporting the implementation and operations of the various infrastructure components.
Advise on technical decisions relating to infrastructure projects, technical solutions, tasks and improvements and be responsible for creating technical documentation and maintaining infrastructure technology related roadmaps. You will need to have a good broad understanding of all core infrastructure and application technologies to be able to support client’s business. You will need to have a broad understanding of all key infrastructure technologies including, Microsoft, Server, Virtualisation, networking and security.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
– Be the technical owner of the enterprise SCCM infrastructure used to manage desktop builds and server estate – must be proficient in SCCM administration and application packaging
– Provide business as usual support to core infrastructure stack – primarily, SCCM, Active Directory, Virtual Platform, Windows file shares, print and scan services, backups and monitoring
– Support escalations from Global Service Desk for investigation and resolution of technical issues
– Help to ensure the delivery of infrastructure solutions in line with PCI-DSS compliance requirements, including documentation
– Administration and scripting using MS PowerShell
– Helping to support the reduction in the number of “Critical” incidents
– Monitoring daily activities, including Change Requests, Project deliverables and Jira call queue responsibilities
– Learning and expanding your infrastructure expertise and skillset and mentoring other members of the team
– Project assignments where you will work closely with other project teams developing new IT solutions based on business requirements, designing and evaluating technical solutions and producing technical support documentation
– Contribute fully as an active team member and ensure personal and team objectives are achieved
– Undertake other tasks as assigned by management
– Maintain individual development along with your line manager
– Adopt a practical, methodical approach to identify and resolve issues
– Managing technical and hierarchical escalations as necessary
– Be able to work independently, be self-motivated and to take on responsibility for delivery output
– Work rotational shifts between 7am and 7pm (GMT+2)
– Be part of the global on call rota to provide support to the team outside of core hours
– Work rotational weekends shifts
– Work public holidays as required
Requirements:
– Graduate-level qualified in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience
– Technical certifications in key infrastructure services and applications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)
– Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerShell
– Minimum of 2years working in a similar role
– An excellent understanding of SCCM
– A solid IT infrastructure background with prior (and current) experience supporting IT operations
– A good understanding of the Microsoft datacentre and operations technology stack
– Experience managing virtual infrastructure incl. VMware and Microsoft
– Experience of highly available and fault tolerant systems
– Good communications skills, comfortable with communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience
– Azure cloud services advantageous
– AWS cloud services advantageous
– Experience managing Linux based systems advantageous
– Networking and firewall support advantageous
