My client, a leading asset management company, is looking for a Business Analyst to join their team. You will be required to have experience in the Asset Management/Investment Administration environment and act as a bridge between the business and the IT development teams. Duties:

  • Responsible for the systematic and methodical investigation, analysis and documentation of all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes
  • Perform business analysis tasks through specialisation in understanding the business usage of information technology and helping technology add value to the Investments business
  • Responsible for developing and delivering system functionality and operational processes
  • Ensuring the platform integrates with external software systems
  • Identify and examine business needs and determine timely and effective solutions
  • Manage the applications that integrate across business areas
  • Comprehensive documentation of Test Plans and coordination of testing effort
  • Document implementation plans and ensure successful implementation
    • Conduct post implementation review
  • Set up and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify business/system requirements
  • Assist technical designers to understand the business requirements
  • Provide input into the design, functional and non-functional discussions with the technical designers
  • Project management of allocated tasks/projects
  • Transfer product requirements to system architects
  • Streamlining and re-engineering processes
  • Guiding users in gathering systems requirements and designing/implementing new solutions
  • Working with end users to capture and document business requirements
  • Providing analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases

 Requirements:

  • BCom Informatics, BSC Degree or a relevant tertiary qualification
    • Diploma in Business analysis preferred
  • Business Analyst with at least 5 years’ experience in a CIS Management Company, Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) and/or Asset Management arena (Front Office/Operations)
  • Proven track record of implementation of systems and processes
  • In-depth knowledge of the full end-to-end services, systems and processes required in a Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) environment
  • Understanding of systems interactions within the context of business process delivery
    • i.e. workflow system, CRM, BPM, batch systems and data warehousing
  • Financial markets and investment administration experience
  • Beneficial Systems knowledge
    • SQL, MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Asset Management IM systems, Investment Management Retail systems, CRM systems, BPM systems
