You are a hands-on and precise factory manager who loves going lean! You love saving time, saving money, making a profit and ensuring quality output with everything you do. You can see the gaps in a production line and know how to find solutions because you are an out-of-the-box thinker and an ambitious individual with a hunger for a challenge!
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
The whole factory including the 15 staff are your responsibility. Working closely with the MD of the business you will be working with a unique raw material product and will be charged with ensuring quality output of all products in your factory. You have an inquisitive mind and even though you may not have worked with this material, you are a quick-study and will learn it quick-stix.
You have strong leadership experience and so the 15 employees reporting to you is nothing new for you.
You will be responsible for implementing processes that make the production more efficient and ensuring down time is at a minimum. BOM, overseeing the ERP system, managing the tool inventory, these are all part of the job and you do this with your eyes closed. Obviously, procurement and stock control is part of the drill, but you knew that already…
Where you’ll be doing it
You will be working in a factory in Blackheath that uses a mined mineral and produces products that are used across a variety of sectors from security to construction to agriculture. This company is 7 years old and is about to take it’s steps into the next phase of growth. This is the great part: you will be an instrumental part of taking this company to the next level ensuring excellent quality products and a smoothly run factory.
What you’ll need
You started out as a boilermaker and then have additionally completed some sort of further engineering qualification. You have at least 5 years’ experience as a manager in a manufacturing environment, a track record in lean manufacturing and a hands-on approach.
You love working as a team and build up your staff to be the best they can be. You also have excellent computer literacy and are skilled at working on ERP systems. If you have done project management or the likes, then this is a plus.
