A well-known company specialising in metal finish, metal treatment, electroplating and the manufacturing of specialty chemicals into the chemical manufacturing industry requires the above to be accountable for all production and operations throughout the businesses by planning, monitoring and evaluating all as well as establishing market trends in order to maximise profit.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Tertiary qualification pref but not essential.
- Previous experiencehaving workedinaProduction Planning/ Operations Management role ideally within a Chemical or related manufacturing company.
- Previous experience having managed people in a plant is pref but not essential.
- Previous experience having worked on Syspro or related ERP system is preferred.
- Previous production planning and product forecasting experience is essential.
- Previous experience working with raw material inventory control is essential.
- The successful candidate mustbe able towork on their ownindependently.
- The successful candidate must be computer literate with good working knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and completing production planning and management activities.
- Developing production plans, budgets and timelines according to production specifications.
- Planning the workflow and schedules for production departments.
- Determining production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
- Evaluating current production processes and recommend improvements.
- Identifying delays and adjusting schedules to meet deadlines accordingly.
- Conducting daily meetings to keep track of production schedules, as well as maintaining OTIF targets.
- Co-ordinating with Procurement for the purchase of raw materials as well as issuing of raw materials to production.
- Conducting stock takes, cycle counts and managing the receiving process,
- Ensuring that all products received meets defined quality standards.
- Co-ordinating with logistics to ensure delivery schedules are maintained.
- Monitoring production requirements as well as producing, adjusting and reviewing the production plan.
- Ensuring back orders are completed to achieve OTIF.
