Afrika Tikkun Youth Accelerator Programme Senior Facilitator
REPORTING TO
General Manager
OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Afrika Tikkun 18-21 year old programme is a six month programme aimed at assisting candidates in this age group with the transition from school to adult life, as well as the career and life choices they need to make at this age.
During 2021 this new programme will be roll-out to the Afrika Tikkun centres for the first time. Phased roll-out will start at Orange Farm, Diepsloot, Braamfontein, before expanding to Alexandria and Mfuleni.
The purpose of the position is the senior facilitation, administration, organisation and successful implementation of the 18-21 programme at one of the respective centres.
The contract will be a permanent position pending review.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Program facilitation and delivery
- Oversee and lead facilitation for the 18-21 programme at the relevant centre.
- Facilitation of core modules according to set schedule of the programme.
- Support facilitation role during service provider sessions.
- Developing additional content for specific modules according to AT standards.
- Facilitation of specifically Computer Literacy (Beginner to Advanced), Math Literacy, Career Guidance and any other sessions that need internal facilitation.
- Ensure all systems and controls are implemented according to procedures and standards of the organisation.
- Assisting developing and maintaining professional working relationships with other training and development organisations.
- Assist to oversee that all candidates are loaded on the skills development database, ensuring accuracy of information.
Programme standardization and candidate experience
- Set the tone for full candidate experience.
- Facilitate and train modules as well as behavioural experience required by candidates.
- Ensure programme outcomes through daily habits, facilitation and coaching.
- Ensure candidate behavioural outcomes.
Programme Administration and Coordination
- Administer and maintain daily administrative records, registration forms, assessment sheet, attendance records and programme stats.
- Assist in maintaining administrative records for all training provided by service providers.
- Administer relevant assessments and maintain assessment records.
- Assist service providers with relevant information to perform their duties.
- Obtain and capture service provider reports.
- Candidate coordination, communication and programme information.
- Manage all candidate administration and communications. Ensure that candidates are contacted timeously and receive relevant communication throughout the programme period.
Feedback and Interventions
- Assist SME in programme evaluation and review for further development of the 18-21 programme.
- Assist SME in reviewing interventions for success and best methods for facilitation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Diploma or certificate in related field. Assessor and/or Moderator accreditation highly beneficial.
- Experience or coursework in areas of facilitation.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook & general computer skills.
- Minimum five years’ experience in facilitation, training or education.
- Experienced in facilitation of different subjects.
- High level of wisdom and experience regarding opportunities for youth in South Africa.
