Job Advert Summary

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism is seeking to recruit a dynamic individual who is able to advocate for the removal of red tape reduction and utilise communications as a strategic tool in making it easier to do business in the Western Cape. This individual will act as a catalyst for improved communications for red tape reduction. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher); A minimum of 3 years management level communications experience.

Recommendation

Proven experience in the following: Leading communication and advocacy campaigns across a wide range of role-players and stakeholders; Working knowledge of the business industry and sectors; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identify blockages and inhibitors to economic growth and development; Advocate and create awareness amongst stakeholders of the significance of red tape reduction; Facilitate the resolving of identified blockages and regulatory restraints; Management of Human Resource and Finance.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Stakeholder relations; Modern systems of governance; Project Management; Written and verbal communication skills; Problem-solving skills; Proven computer literacy (MS Office).

Remuneration

All-inclusive salary package of R 733 257 per annum (Salary level 11)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
