• Attending to all plant and equipment to make repairs and undertake routine maintenance eg. Valves, Pumps
• Ensuring that plant is up and running and repaired promptly to ensure that production plans are achieved.
• Knowledge of heat exchangers, Pasteurizer and Coolers.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, Pressure, Temperature, Conductivity and Flow Transmitters.
• Knowledge of CIP System
• Knowledge of services, control air, steam, electricity and ice water.
• Must be able to work under pressure as the engineering team provides an integral service to production, Prompt response to breakdowns is crucial.
• The Artisan must uphold high engineering standards.
• Knowledge of Utilities
• Must comply with safety standards as laid down in the OHSACT and any additional site safety policies and procedures, must also comply with company hygiene and HACCP standards and procedures.
• Whilst the artisan reports through to the Engineering Foreman he must be able to make good judgements based on good practices and where necessary discuss prior or at the time with Engineering Foreman / Technical Manager.
• The incumbent must have unquestionable fault finding techniques.
• Participation in process improvement projects
Minimum Requirements
• N4 and qualified Millwright
• Proven PLC knowledge to facilitate fault finding.
• Experience in Ammonia Cat A and B
• Must be a self – motivator with good planning, organizing and admin skills.
• Good communication skills
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and overtime if required.
• Exposure of or background in the production environment will prove advantageous.
• At least 3 years’ experience in the FMCG production environment as a qualified Millwright.
