The purpose of this job is to ensure a compelling assortment is delivered to our customers in line with the category strategy. They will ensure delivery of the business objectives – including profitability, price leadership, margin management and selection of items for promotion and relevant activities. This role will manage supplier relationships and performance whilst building collaborative partnerships
To ensure an assortment range is developed
-To build a compelling and optimal assortment range indicating price leadership in line with Category Strategy
utilising market analysis and customer insights.
-To co-ordinate the range review process and presentation of product assortment to Category Manager, Head of Category and Director for consideration
-To determine assortment (clustering) methodology by subcategory in order to optimise relevance at a store level while delivering stock efficiencies
-To ensures model stock value or compelling assortment complies with budget requirements in order to remain cost effective.
-To makes sure product clearance plans & exit strategies are in place
To maintain sound relationships with suppliers
-To manage key supplier relationships in order to optimise the co operation levels in sourcing , supplying and pricing of product
To oversee the successful implementation of promotional activities
-To oversee the selection of items for promotion in line with agreed promotional activity plans and advertising strategy in order to ensure operational compliance with promotional offers
To ensure pricing is dealt with accurately
- To determine selling prices and negotiates cost prices of product for optimal pricing practices.
- To provides ad hoc billing information for input into the income forecast report
To provide team leadership
- To exercise leadership qualities and capabilities in guiding, managing and mentoring visual merchandising and space planner
Omni- Channel
- Implement the Omni- Channel strategy
- Support the digital campaign
- Ensure collaboration with Omni-Channel team
Desired Skills:
- Relevant professional or academic qualification
- ? 5 – 10 years experience in retail with relevant experience in merchandise.
