Minimum requirements:
- Matric
- Technical background
- Own reliable transport
Experience
- Between 5- 8 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to manage people from diverse backgrounds.
- Experienced in a fast moving factory environment.
- Quality focused.
- Experienced in Lean Manufacturing
Responsibilities:
Production
- Manage and make sure that standard operating procedures are followed and that the machines are set-up for the best possible production.
- Keep a constant watch on quality, making corrections where necessary to maintain the required properties
- Identify problems and do fault finding take pro-active action to solve problems
- Monitor planned production schedules and manage adjustments if problems occur.
- Make sure efficiencies and targets are met.
- Keep Manager informed through daily report-backs.
Safety
- Manage your shift to maintain safe working practices at all times.
- Oversee Production personnel on a shift assigned to you
- Ensure that all the employees in your department are working efficiently, correctly and safely.
- Manage Time and attendance in the department and take corrective action if employees form negative patterns
- Where Employees are not giving the required level of service, follow this up immediately. Don’t allow bad practices to become the standard.
