- Manage sea freight import movement for international clients, collection, and deliveries for ocean freight imports
- Use preferred transporters and identify customer solutions on rates and services
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and government regulations
- Deal with transport companies and other vendors, negotiation of rates and service
- Liaise with shippers, consignees, and ocean lines
- Completion of all shipping import documents, quotations
- Compile quotations for customers and the sales team, locally and internationally, determine shipping costs and making recommendation to clients
- Entering import shipments onto the system
- Receive and process documents, liaise with office of origin
- Development of relationships with clients and vendors
- Clearing shipments through customs, handle clearance and final release certifications and inspections, prepare documents for release and final delivery
- Monitor shipment arrival notices and entering shipping information on the system
- Meet with clients and attend to all queries, shipment status updates etc.
- Process billing and invoices until closing of files
- Participate in client meetings, resolving queries and brainstorming solutions
- Ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- Matric essential
- Additional tertiary qualification an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in international ocean imports
- Attention to detail
- Relevant technical knowledge of seafreight imports and operations
- MS Office literate, Cargowise or similar freight system experience
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
