Tarsus Distribution, has signed up the distribution rights for TeamViewer in Africa.

TeamViewer is a cloud-based proprietary software application for connecting devices including remote control, screen sharing, online meetings, web conferencing and file transfer. It offers IoT and augmented reality solutions. It can be downloaded and installed on any device and is also accessible via the cloud.

Tarsus Distribution and TeamViewer will work together to enable resellers to help customers control, manage, monitor and repair computers, mobile devices, network machines and other devices from anywhere at any time.

“This relationship will offer a compelling opportunity for the South African ICT channel to provide a variety of services and features for remote PC access across multiple platforms,” says Rajesh Nakarajan, director of sales at TeamViewer. “At the same time, this agreement will help resellers leverage new revenue opportunities, while also having access to product financing and local application expertise from Tarsus Distribution.”

For desktop or mobile devices TeamViewer incorporates features like drag-and-drop file transfer, text chat, a whiteboard, and session recording, making communicating between devices simple. TeamViewer has implemented high-security measures ensuring that information remains safe and secure. Remote data backup and remote device monitoring are secure from end to end.

The latest version remotely guides users through visual steps to resolve an issue via the TeamViewer Pilot smartphone app for augmented reality-based remote support, making it even easier to use. It is well suited to the South African market as it works even on slow internet connections.

“We have been in the process of building a complete endpoint security stack for some time and broadening our offering to include additional services on top of security, and TeamViewer meets both those requirements,” says Alan Hawkins, general manager, cyber security and software at Tarsus Distribution. “As South Africans continue to work remotely, managing the environment outside of your local area network (LAN) and ensuring workforce productivity are becoming more and more important so the timing is perfect.”

TeamViewer has been installed on more than 2,5-billion devices around the world. The company continues to expand its portfolio with successful technologies that enable IT professionals to manage devices, collaborate with users and keep their infrastructure up and running.
