Here is an opportunity to get involved in a very dynamic and innovative supply chain Group of companies and grow your career in supply chain. You will be placed as an outsourced resource at a manufacturing customer site, employed by our client.
The controller will be working very closely with material planners to ensure ideal stock levels are determined to ensure on-time arrival of inbound materials according to the production schedule The controller will also recommend optimal inventory levels to ensure reliable material supply while at the same time optimising inventory investment.
In order to improve service delivery to production, the controller will collaborate with:
- the client around critical material supply
- the inhouse team (MRP planners and logistics manager) to improve inbound visibility of materials and optimise inventory levels
- Warehouse personnel to ensure accurate and up to date stock balance records.
Your key responsibilities:
- Calculate optimal inventory parameters to be loaded in MRP.
- Calculate Economic order quantities for inbound materials
- Recommend optimal delivery frequencies.
- Ensure supplier lead times are accurate and reflecting reality
- Report on Day’s cover of inventory and service levels achieved to production
- Ensure sufficient safety stocks and re-order points are in place for OTIF delivery of inbound materials
- Recommend inventory parameters for optimal stock holding using SYSPRO
- Reporting on key KPI’s
Non negotiable requirements:
- Completed Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Logistics degree
- Plus 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment eg Automobile or complex product manufacturing environment (NOT FMCG)
- Inventory management principles and Manufacturing operations knowledge
- MS Office (strong MS Excel skills)
