Responsibilities:
- Performance tuning and Optimization of TSQL queries
- Troubleshooting of production and Non-Prod issues
- Monitoring and completion of DBA related Service Desk calls
- Work in an agile environment with stand-ups, sprints and planning meetings
- Backup and recovery of databases
- Security maintenance of databases
- Capacity Planning
- Monitoring of SQL Server using 3rd party tools. E.g. SentryOne
- Automation of daily DBA tasks
- Consult with vendors on technical issues
- 24/7 Standby support
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- 5 – 10 solid experience as a SQL Server DBA in SQL [Phone Number Removed];
- Sound knowledge of TSQL
- Sound knowledge of SQL Internals
- Ability to work under pressure
Not required but advantageous:
- Agile principals
- PowerShell or any other automation scripting language
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence
- Cloud principals
