You will run an outsourced logistics contract for our Supply Chain Consutlign Group. The customer is SA’s largest manufacturer of an exciting global product range. You must have a strong production background in industries such as Automotive or Product manufacturing. (NOT FMCG mnaufacturing)
Local manufacturing using imported and local raw materials, exported and delivered worldwide.
The role involves:
- Running the logistics operations (warehousing and transport)
- Managing material planning process, service level and staff
- Ensuring client KPIs are met
- Continuous improvement (ensure operations are continuously improved)
- Manage client relationship
- Reporting to management
- Client Billing
Key responsibilities areas:
- Client service levels (on-time-in-full delivery to production, material working capital targets, operational cost targets)
- Managing staff complement of 800 – 1200 ( indirect and direct reports)
- Managing the supply chain and logistics operations
- Contract profitability
- Monthly Reporting to customer and consulting management
KINDLY NOTE: The role is intended to be a permanenet role however the first 3 months will be on a contract basis to assess your competentcy. Thereafter, should you perform as expected, the role will be become permanent. This is non negotiable.
