Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our Commercial Team. The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a Senior Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of IFRS and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and General Ledger
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide input into department’s goal setting process
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Preparing financial analyses and reports.
Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
Assisting with annual audit preparations.
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.

Senior Accountant Requirements:

CA(SA) with 3years POST ARTICLE EXPERIENCE
5+ years of accounting experience.
Working knowledge of tax laws and IFRS.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Strong organizational and stress management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
Ability to train and manage staff.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate training and information sessions
