Overall Job Function
The Junior Associate: Shipping will be reporting into the Group Manager: Procurement (Raw Material & Shipping) and will be responsible for performing a variety of shipping related functions to support the department and ensure on time delivery to SRSA warehouses. Includes working closely with the clearing agent to clear the goods before arrival of goods. Arrange export of sample tyres, and various reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Issues clearing instructions for all imported cargo
- Ensuring full set of shipping documents is received timeously.
- Co-ordinate the export of product by airfreight
- Track and trace documents and consignments imported by air and seafreight
- Arrange deliveries of imported cargo to SRSA by liaising with clearing agent’s controllers
- Ensure all project and hazardous cargo to be delivered directly to our Ladysmith factory
- Maintaining a close relationship with CDC & RMs to ensure that space constraints are communicated.
- Maintain and distribute related schedules and reports timeously
- Take ownership of SRSA Shipping Schedule of all Imports
- Request regular updates from LDY on the empty spool stock count
- Arranges the re-export of empty spools to China
- Liaise with suppliers for collection of SMD & C1 forms
- Adhoc administrative tasks related to RM procurement department
Job Requirements
- Matric with a Diploma or Certificate in Import & Export Procedures
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a shipping environment
- Working knowledge of import and export procedures
- Valid Driver’s License
- Working knowledge of SAP MM module
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), with experience in spreadsheets
