Client based in the Northern suburbs of JHB seeks the services of Senior Marketing Associate responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the South Africa marketing strategy and plan to drive favorability for the company’s brand as well as the acquisition and retention of company’s customers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Develop a deep understanding of South Africa’s priorities (business context, challenges, and objectives) and knowledge for trends and insights related to your market and audiences in order to be thought partners with regional Ops/Policy
- Act as primary marketing POC for regional stakeholders (Ops, Policy & Comms, CommOps, etc)
- Based on Uber’s global marketing strategy, adapt, localize, and/or amplify initiatives to align with South Africa’s marketing strategy, taking into account local specifics and culture
- Identify uniquely local marketing opportunities (major events, partnerships, seasonal moments, etc) aligned with business priorities and deliver campaigns or activations against them
- Support the development of a local strategy for new company’s products in your market (positioning, messaging, audiences, channel strategy, etc.)
- Ensure alignment of regional activities with global brand strategy
- Comfortable with a hands-on environment that involves supporting an end to end flawless execution (integrated campaigns, brand activations, growth tactics, etc.)
- Own South African content creation across key touchpoints
- Manage and coordinate localization of relevant content in partnership with global localization team, as well as creating individual market/ regional-specific content for critical markets in partnership with relevant global stakeholders
- You will be required to measure and report the performance of all marketing campaigns and assess against goals
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 5+ years of generalist marketing experience, preferably in a fast-paced oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or similar, and a demonstrated ability in quantitative fields
- Strong business acumen; structured thinker with project management skills and attention to detail
