South African online events platform Flock Eventing has, over the past 10 months, received a significant increase in demand for virtual events, from both local and global clients, due to the negative impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on live events.

This has created a number of exciting growth opportunities for Flock, and has prompted a strategic move to establish a Flock office in Lisbon, Portugal.

Mike Lysko, founder and CEO of Flock, comments: “After tremendous success in the South African market over the past few years, we have decided 2021 is the ideal time to expand internationally. We identified Lisbon as the primary location to establish an office to meet the growing demand in the European and UK events industries.

“In addition to the favourable logistics, Portugal has a growing tech industry and has a number of initiatives that are welcoming innovative international companies,” Lysko says.

The Flock Lisbon office will be fully operational from January 2021 and Lysko will continue to manage Flock’s operations in South Africa. “Our South African based team will continue to provide the SA events industry with the service, support and insights for which we have been recognized,” says Lysko.

The move will allow Flock to provide more direct support to its clients, many of which are based in Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.

Lysko says that Flock’s obsession to offer its clients superior service has resulted in it achieving a Net Promoter Score of 76%, which deems its services as “excellent”. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a measure whereby a customer rates how likely they are to recommend a company’s product or service to others.

“This is an exciting time for Flock as our expansion will allow us to stay on the leading edge of international event trends, allowing us to continue to grow and improve our offering to our clients, both locally and internationally,” Lysko says.
