• Responsible for the coordination and execution of the daily activities within the Electrolyser handyman team.
  • Responsible to maintain the electrolysers in order to keep them in a good running condition. This includes overhauling of electrolysers, daily planned preventative maintenance, completing tasks to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of spares, electrolyser operation, execution of maintenance.
  • The work coordinator is thus expected to direct these tasks by managing the human resources available for the team as well as other spares and resources required.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks contributing to electrolyser maintenance and ensure safety systems are managed well.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Matric
  • Mechanical, or Millwright Trade Certification
  • 5 years in Mechanical or E&I maintenance and Asset care
  • Electrolyser maintenance (advantageous)
  • Working with tools and spares
  • Working in a chlorine production plant
  • Leading a team

POSITION OUTPUTS
People Management:

  • To delegate work amongst the team for effective and timeous completion of maintenance work both planned and unplanned with fairness and equality.
  • Ensure adequate resources are available to complete maintenance (can be short notice) for both planned and unplanned maintenance. Standby and overtime
  • Arrange Huddle group daily to plan work
  • Apply leadership principles to ensure accountability within the team in line with company HR policies. (Discipline, performance management
  • Ensure necessary training is done as per job requirements and identify gaps in individuals training.

  • Work with the team within the job profile of Electrolyser handyman

  • Drive the team to understanding quality in their work daily in huddle meeting
  • Understand all methods and procedures in electrolyser maintenance tasks / understand all specialized parts and purpose /fit
  • Co Ordinate support for auxiliary tasks on electrolyser maintenance (Fitters, Cranes, Instrumentation

Planning:

  • Ensure spares are on hand for unplanned maintenance, communicate requirements
  • Check stock levels and report any items running low by ensuring stores are holding all spares required (monitor SAP levels)
  • Manage the cell frames in need of repair and ensure enough spares are on hand for any replacements (liaise with contractor)
  • Ensure management of job cards for planned maintenance activities

Safety and Legal

  • Report all unsafe conditions/acts
  • Make suggestions on how to improve working conditions /acts and/or execute corrective actions without postponement
  • Participate in root cause investigations /analysis in the event of PSM incidents or safety incidents
  • Ensure the team and the incumbent attend safety toolbox talks and initiate toolbox talks once a month with the team
  • Conform and ensure team conforms to all legal requirements, MC processes and Ensuring we retain SHERQ certifications where possible by finding, actioning and completing audit findings and non-conformances.

Performance:

  • Ensure the electrolyser feedback reports are completed and all data captured relevant to asset care
  • Contribute to electrolyser Dashboard information and statistics
  • Communicate with technical specialist on specific electrolyser maintenance needs and what requirements technically to ensure proper operation
  • Attend meetings with business colleagues and managers (e.g., Daily Production planning meeting at TLP)
