My client is based in Sandton and has a fast-growing property portfolio. You will be required to do all relevant financial duties relating to the property division. This is a high paced environment with many challenges. Need a strong character to withstand the pressure and can work without supervision.
- Reconciliations – very important
- Balance sheet recons up to audit stage
- Reporting is crucial
- Invoicing
- Collecting of debtors
- Examining leases
- Performing reconciliations for tenant accounts, creditors and relevant balance sheet accounts
- Preparing cash flow information and forecasts
- Raising monthly accruals, where applicable
- Calculation of rental, straight-lining if required
- Assisting with VAT calculations and basic Tax provisions
- Ensuring bond information is accurately captured (capital and interest allocations)
- Agreeing loan balances with other entities
- Compiling management accounts for properties
- Matching municipal charges with amounts recovered from tenants to check adequate recoveries.
- Dealing with external parties where they manage buildings on group’s behalf and reconciling their information with group’s records for accounting purposes.
Required Skills
- Property accountant: 2 to 3 years
- Or Qualified CA(SA)
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or have relevant Property Acccounting experience
- Experience in property accountancy is essential (minimum 3 years experience in this particular field)
