Our client in the agricultural industry is currently looking to employ a Production Controller (Junior IE/ Mech. Engineer). This position will be based in Kirkwood.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to optimise line productivity by management of line speeds and fruit drop allocation.
- Perform resource capacity planning on an ongoing basis.
- Identify and resolve process bottleneck and constraints.
- Optical sorter understanding relating to: Capability, calibration, verification, breakdowns and maintenance – work closely with the Packhouse Technology Specialst.
- Frequent communication and engagement with OEM’s and engineering department.
- Perform root cause analysis relating to quality system and equipment failures.
- Execute packing program within quality parameters and program requirements.
- Assume acting line management duties when required
- Control and effectively guide production team
- Adherence to GMP at all times
Requirements:
- BTech- or Engineering Diploma (Industrial- or Mechanical Engineering)
- Advance computer skills
- The ability to work independently in a dynamic and challenging environment with very technology advanced equipment.
- Previous production environment experience will be an advantage. Preferably in a FMCG environment.
