We are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the Production Controller role within our client’s Operations in Kirkwood, EC (Sundays River Valley).

This role reports in to the Line Manager and entails the following:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Responsible to optimise line productivity by management of line speeds and fruit drop allocation.
  • Perform resource capacity planning on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and resolve process bottleneck and constraints.
  • Optical sorter understanding relating to: Capability, calibration, verification, breakdowns and maintenance – work closely with the Packhouse Technology Specialist.
  • Frequent communication and engagement with OEM’s and engineering department.
  • Perform root cause analysis relating to quality system and equipment failures.
  • Execute packing programme within quality parameters and programme requirements.

Note: The successful candidate must be willing to work night/day shift and we willing to work as part of the maintenance team outside of the fruit-packing period.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Engineering National Diploma (Industrial- or Mechanical Engineering) is essential
  • Advance computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). MS Project knowledge is advantageous.
  • The ability to work independently in a dynamic and challenging environment with very technology-advanced equipment.
  • Previous production environment experience will be an advantage. Preferably in a FMCG environment.
  • Be target driven.
