SENIOR TRADEROur Client, an agricultural commodity trading company is looking for an experienced Trader to join their team in JohannesburgYou will be responsible for managing commodity risk and exposures for the trading business and ensuring coordinated cross commodity trading whilst maximising market opportunities. Working individually and as part of a team focused on the physical maize and wheat procurement, hedging and marketing. In addition the team ensures production assets are supported and maintained with a consistent, quality, and cost-effective source of raw materials; and facilitation of 3rd party physical trading for agricultural products in the regions. Responsibilities
- Price discovery for wheat & maize identify and determine cost effective source of raw materials
- Reporting of pertinent market information to facilitate strategic decision making in conjunction with management
- Communication with customers and affiliates to develop information exchange on local market conditions, production, demand and political tendencies
- Develop professional relationships with a portfolio of agricultural customers
- Advises customers regarding the risk associated with the grain marketing strategy
- Responsible for the implementation of the marketing strategy
- Presentations/seminars to customers in order to retain or gain new business
- Manage sales targets and plan marketing initiatives
- Executes customer trades on behalf of customers
- Provide analysis and advice on market expectations
- Monitor competitor activity
- Actively manage the overall company risk and exposure to the local market
Qualifications/Experience Required
- University Degree which is Business/Economics/Financial orientated
- In depth knowledge and understanding of market analysis, trading concepts and futures markets
- Understanding of options trading, technical analysis and experience in risk management
