Workshop Engineer
Manufacturing company urgently seeking an individual with a BSc/BTech/N.Dip. in Mechanical Engineering. Solid experience in paper and pulp essential as well as roll machine maintenance within a heavy engineering environment. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of paper machine rolls, overall control of the main workshop as well as the leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum requirements
- BSc/BTech/N.Dip. Mechanical Engineering.
- 6 years post qualification experience in heavy engineering environment.
- Solid experience of paper machine rolls non-negotiable.
- Strong ability to lead and supervise a team of multi-disciplinary artisans.
- Knowledge of OHS Act.
- Shut planning and capex planning.
- Management of critical spares.
Responsibilities
- Ensure machine rolls are repaired to required standards and OEM tolerances are required.
- Control main workshop to ensure plant repairable items are available as needed.
- Supervision of multi-disciplinary team including Welders/Boilermakers, Riggers, Fitters, Turners, Millwrights
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act with respect to machinery.
