My client based in Mobeni is looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to manage their payroll of circa 250 staff members.  The company works on SAGE Premier and uses a time and attendance management system. This is a 24-hour operation, and you will be required to ensure staff members are paid according to the shift rotation that they work.  This role is urgent, and they are looking for someone who can start work in the next 2 weeksKey duties:

  • Providing payroll information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
  • Managing the time and attendance system
  • Submission of journals to finance
  • payroll reconciliation
  • Calculating salaries, payable hours, overtime, commissions, bonuses, tax, PAYE, UIF, EMP 201, 501 , Skills Levies etc
  • Uploading data, salary files and bank payment files
  • Capturing of leave, sick leave and absenteeism  
  • Ensuring benefits are captured and processed correctly.
  • Issuing pay checks and managing direct deposits.
  • Maintaining employee records (contracts)
  • Dealing with payroll related HR issues
  • On-boarding new staff members
  • Weekly & monthly reports
  • Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department.
  • Adhoc tasks from management
  • BBBEE reports
  • Audit tasks related to BBBEE and Annual Financial Audit
  • Managing the relationship with labour net for IR related matters

Essential requirements

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification (diploma / certificate)
  • Must have at least 3 years strong payroll administration experience
  • Administered a payroll of a similar size (200 +)
  • Must have worked on Sage VIP (Premier)
  • Knowledge of time and attendance system
  • A background in paying salaries based on shift rotations.
